“Tokka. Regardless of what he calls himself you know him as an intensely gifted and thoroughly focused artist. Raw, realized, passionate, his work screams at you on levels both in your face and abstractly, both Day-Glo and nuanced, bold and sublime. His mediums are many: he puts the bang back into Pop, pours power across a page, tears pixels into tomorrow, gives action figures a second coming. He rocks, he raves, he wakes us up from ourselves.

On a personal level, Tokka took Vanilla Ice’s 1990’s “Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go Ninja” musical refrain way too seriously: go he did, but it was more of a long walk off a short pier, landing beak first and smack on his ninja noggin. The result: an unhealthy obsession with the TMNT comparable to a compulsive creative disorder. Physicians report that he has since branched out with his laser focus and is now also a card-carrying member of both the Gamera Yokai of the Month Club and the Moo Montana Junior Mesa Rangers (since kicked out: long story). He has also moonlighted as a Mighty Mutanimal, Pismo Beach Chapter. Proximity to Tokka has been known to cause rashes on his fellow professionals Steve Bissette, Ryan Brown and Dean Clarrain. Be warned: the lad and his art are both quite catchy.”
